~~Ariel~~Hmm, I’m seeing what you’re seeing on my Macbook which also has a retina display.
After experimenting a bit here, I see that in the UI Acrobat only provides 3 options for border line thickness: thin, medium, thick.
Although using a 0.25pt border in InDesign sets the thickness to “thin” in Acrobat, it’s not really showing any border at all.
To get the thin border, you need to set the value in InDesign to 1pt. The medium border is 2pt. The thick one is 3pt. You can continue with whole pt multiples beyond 3 to get a thicker border as well.
In short, the thinnest border available in Acrobat for form fields (without regard to FormMaker) seems to be 1pt.
