/ Id-Extras Forum / Extract Pages says the page ranges it generated are invalid

      Hello. I just downloaded ExtractPages 2.0.4 because I need to split an indd document so that each chapter is its own document.

      What I’m doing:

      1. Run the script. When the window opens, select “Split by Style.”
      2. Select “Chapter #” as the paragraph style.
      3. Extract as “groups of pages”.
      4. ExtractPages generates a bunch of numbers in the Range field.
      5. Click Extract. I immediately get an error message saying “Invalid page range.”

      Does anyone have any idea what I’m doing wrong here? It seems odd that the numbers the script itself generates are invalid. I’ve ended up manually adding sections at each instance of “Chapter #” paragraph style, and ExtractPages does seem to work normally if I “Split by section” instead. But I have to do this to a bunch of documents, and I really don’t want to have to go through and add in sections every time when this script is supposed to be able to split at a paragraph style.

        Hi,

        That is a bit strange.

        Can you paste here the page numbers that the script generates in the Range field?

            Hmm. If you delete the - +0; that appears right at the beginning, does it work? (Don’t forget to delete the semicolon after the 0 as well.)

              That fixed it! The script’s running now. Too late for this book since I used sections instead, but I’ve got plenty more books I need to do this too coming this week so I’ll remember to remove the – +0; from now on.

                Well, it’s a bug with the script I think, and it reminds me of a bug that I thought was fixed.

                  I am having a similar issue. My document is 400 pages and I am trying to extract 2-page pdf files by style. I also cut the page count to 100 and tried again, still getting the same error. The spreads should export as pages 1-2, 3-4… I wasn’t sure if the “0” refers to page 1 or if all spreads are off. Any help is much appreciated!
